High Altitude Balloon Project

2021 - 2025

Montreal

I joined the McGill Rocket Team’s High Altitude Balloon (HAB) Project in 2021 as a general member, and by 2022, I began leading the team, eventually becoming the HAB advisor in 2025.

The goal of the HAB project is to test critical components of the team’s hybrid rocket at high altitudes. Over four years, I directed multiple balloon launches, trained a team of 16 on HAB operations and recovery systems, and managed key responsibilities including sponsorship, documentation, flight approvals with Nav Canada, and legal compliance. I also contributed to the design and integration of mechanical systems, electronics, and flight termination systems. This experience gave me deep insight into mission logistics, hands-on engineering, and leadership within a student-led aerospace initiative.
